[NEWS] Start of Full-Online Classes for SHS and College - moved to July 1

Manila, Philippines

The opening of classes for Academic Year 2020-2021 for Senior High School and College was moved to July 1.

Despite the former announcement that the classes will open in the first week of June, the AMA Education System sets the day-to-day data from the IATF into consideration.

Last May 11, the IATF supports the Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan of the Department of Education (DepEd) to start the classes on August 24.

However, on Monday, President Rodrigo Duterte has responded "I will not allow the opening of classes where students will be near each other," he added. "Unless I am sure that they are really safe, it's useless to be talking about the opening of (Physical) classes."

The full-online strategy of the AMA Education System eyes to lessen the potential risk of physical classes even after the DepEd's suggestion to open the classes on August 24.

It is part of AMAES Learning Continuity Plan in both SHS and College, to move the opening of Full-online classes. To further study and develop the platform to be used for online learning and assessment. And to acknowledge the difficulties that might affect less-privileged students.
